We arrange business-to-business (B2B) international special transports of oversized and heavy goods. We are experienced in carrying out special transports and select a suitable logistics solution based on the dimensions, weight, and nature of the cargo: road transport with specialised trailers, Ro-Ro sea transport, or container shipments with special containers (flat rack, platform). On request, we provide project transport planning and route optimisation, and at the client’s request also the preparation of transport documents and a customs service option.
Our service covers the entire organisation of oversized cargo transport – route and transport mode planning, selection of suitable equipment, taking into account the dimensions and weight of the goods, and consultation. Depending on the nature of the cargo, we use road transport with specialised trailers (flatbed trailer, lowbed trailer, jumbo and mega trailer, extendable trailer).
In sea transport, we use ro-ro transport and 20- and 40-foot specialised containers (flat rack, platform), and where necessary we carry dangerous goods (ADR, IMO / IMDG) or combine solutions as multimodal transport. We coordinate the entire transport process from start to finish and, on request, also provide customs services and cargo insurance.
Our oversized cargo transport service grew out of the need to offer companies a clear and managed solution for technically complex shipments. We approach oversized transports as an end-to-end process where, in addition to the transport itself, route and transport mode planning, accounting for technical restrictions, and risk assessment play a central role.
Over the years, we have expanded our capability to arrange oversized and heavy cargo both by road and by sea. In road transport, we use specialised trailers, including flatbed trailers, lowbed trailers, jumbo and mega trailers, and extendable trailers. In sea transport, we use ro-ro transport and 20- and 40-foot specialised containers (flat rack, platform), and when necessary also multimodal transport. Each shipment is planned individually based on the dimensions, weight, and technical specifics of the goods.
Today we serve manufacturing, industrial, and trading companies as well as public-sector bodies that need a reliable partner for arranging international oversized and special transports. Typical cargo includes construction and agricultural machinery, including excavators, tractors, combine harvesters, forklifts, trucks, trailers, industrial equipment, and machinery. Our role is not limited to arranging transport, but also includes advising the client and supporting decision-making throughout the entire transport process – from planning to delivery of the goods to their final destination.
We serve oversized and special cargo destinations based on the dimensions, weight, and technical specifics of the goods. We use road transport with specialised trailers (flatbed trailer, lowbed trailer, jumbo and mega trailer, extendable trailer) and sea transport with Ro-Ro and 20′ and 40′ Flat Rack and platform containers, according to the specific cargo and route. Special transports are a suitable solution for the international transport of construction and agricultural machinery, including excavators, tractors, combine harvesters, forklifts, trucks, trailers, and various industrial equipment and machinery.
We offer oversized cargo transport both in selected European countries and outside the European Union. We plan the technical details of the transport mode and route, coordinate the transport process, and give an indicative overview of the transit time and suitable solutions. Where necessary, we add customs service and cargo insurance based on the nature of the shipment and the client’s wishes.

Practical guidance for planning and arranging oversized and special transports. We share information on different transport types and solutions, explain technical and logistical specifics, and address the most common risks and practical issues related to the international transport of oversized cargo.
We carry out oversized and special cargo transport based on the dimensions, weight, and technical specifics of the goods. We use road transport with specialised trailers and sea transport in the form of ro-ro shipments and special containers, deriving the solution based on the specific cargo and route.
Below we answer frequently asked questions, from the choice of a suitable mode of transport and equipment to technical requirements, permits, and planning. If you don’t find an answer or your shipment is still being planned, feel free to contact us – when necessary, we provide an indicative estimate and practical advice even when not all input data is yet final.
The choice of the right mode of transport depends on the dimensions, weight, shape, and technical specifics of the cargo, as well as the restrictions of the route. For oversized shipments, each transport is assessed on a project-by-project basis.
Road transport with specialised trailers (flatbed trailer, lowbed trailer, jumbo and mega trailer, extendable trailer) is suitable for cargo that can be moved by road in its entirety or for most of the route. Sea transport is mainly used for more distant destinations such as China and the USA. Depending on the cargo, sea transport uses Ro-Ro shipping, 20′ and 40′ Flat Rack and platform containers, or a Break Bulk solution. Often the most suitable solution is multimodal transport, which combines road and sea transport.
Oversized cargo (also known as OOG, or out of gauge cargo) is goods that exceed the permitted dimensions (length, width, or height) of standard transport equipment and which therefore cannot be transported using a standard semi-trailer or sea container (such as 20DC, 40DC, and 40HC). Heavy cargo is goods whose total weight or axle load exceeds normal limits and which require special solutions.
Special cargo (abnormal load) is cargo whose transport requires specialised equipment, route planning, permit procedures, or special handling. Such cargo often includes construction and agricultural machinery, industrial equipment, machinery, trucks, and trailers whose dimensions, weight, or shape do not match standard freight transport.
For oversized and special cargo road transport, specialised trailers are used that make it possible to carry goods with non-standard dimensions and weight. The most common solutions are flatbed trailers, lowbed trailers, jumbo and mega trailers, and extendable trailers, the choice of which depends on the dimensions, weight, and shape of the cargo. When selecting a trailer, we choose the option that ensures safe movement of the cargo and is economically justified for the client.
Depending on the type of cargo, trailers with ramps are also used, which are suitable for self-propelled and rolling cargo such as tractors and excavators. The ramp solution allows for safe and smooth loading and unloading.
Yes, we also arrange the transport of oversized and special cargo for dangerous goods in accordance with ADR and IMO / IMDG requirements. For such shipments, in addition to dimensions and weight, we also take into account the hazard class, packaging, marking, and handling requirements of the goods, and we assess each shipment separately before planning the transport.
A typical example is a forklift, vehicle, or machine imported from China that runs on a lithium-ion battery. In such cases, the shipment is treated as dangerous goods and IMO / IMDG transport, and additional documents are also required (including an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), sea-transport-specific safety certificates and, where necessary, UN 38.3 test requirements).
Oversized transport requires prior technical planning and the procurement of official permits, which depend on the dimensions, weight, route, and equipment used. In road transport, special transport permits, route approvals, axle load checks, and consideration of restrictions (e.g. bridges, height and width restrictions) may be required.
Depending on the country and the route, a route survey, escort vehicles (BF3/BF4), police escort, and other conditions required by authorities may also be necessary. Permits are always issued by the authorities and require time to process, so planning should be started early. The scope of permits and technical requirements is specified after the final dimensions and weight of the cargo have been confirmed, and is always project-based.
Planning of an oversized shipment is recommended to start as early as possible, preferably several months before the goods are finally ready and loading is scheduled. For special transports, the schedule is affected by the permit procedure, route coordination, technical requirements, and the possible need for escorts, which depend on the country and the parameters of the cargo.
Early planning makes it possible to assess the feasibility of the cargo and compare different solutions, including determining which mode of transport is most economically justified for the specific shipment. In the case of transporting equipment with lithium-ion batteries, early planning provides an opportunity to assess the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), UN 38.3 test summary, and other relevant documents for compliance and their acceptability by the specific shipping line. The later planning is started, the fewer options remain available, and the greater the risk that the transport will have to be carried out with limited, more expensive solutions.
In road transport, we offer the transport of oversized cargo when the dimensions of the shipment fall within the range of up to 14.0 × 3.5 × 3.5 m (length × width × height).
For larger or technically more complex shipments, we assess feasibility separately, taking into account the route, permits, and transport options. In such cases, sea transport or multimodal transport may be the appropriate solution. In sea transport, the dimension limits are not comparable to road transport, and solutions are determined based on the specific cargo and the capabilities of the shipping line.
